The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Clark Atlanta University continues its year-long examination into the works and writings of scholar W.E.B. Du Bois on Friday with a look at his studies into Africa.

Du Bois, who once taught at what was then Atlanta University, had a special affinity to Africa and ended up spending his last days in Ghana, where he died 1963.

A panel of six scholars will specifically discuss: “The World and Africa: An Inquiry Into The Part Which Africa Has Played in World History; and “Africa: Its Geography, People and Products,” and “Africa: Its Place in Modern History.”

The discussion will begin at noon Friday in the Thomas W. Cole Jr. Research Center for Science and Technology Boardroom, 223 James P. Brawley Dr.
