Remembering Congressman David Scott

The Atlanta University Center Consortium mourns the passing of Congressman David Scott, a distinguished public servant and steadfast champion of the people of Georgia’s 13th Congressional District and communities across our state and nation. Congressman Scott dedicated his life to service, consistently elevating the voices of those he represented and advancing policies rooted in equity, opportunity, and impact.
Congressman Scott leaves an enduring legacy of leadership. His work to expand access to affordable and nutritious food, combat hunger, and support the nation’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities reflects a lifelong commitment to justice and inclusive progress.  He was unwavering in his support and deeply aligned with our mission to strengthen public service and civic leadership in Georgia and beyond. His example of civic leadership enriched the work of the AUC Consortium and will continue to inspire us as we train the ethical civic leaders of tomorrow.
He will be missed.  And we extend our deepest condolences to Congressman Scott’s entire family—especially his wife, Mrs. Alfredia Aaron Scott—as well as his friends, staff, and constituents. We honor his remarkable legacy of service and the profound impact he leaves on Georgia, the nation, and the future of civic leadership.
