AUCC DDEP JOINS BEYA CONFERENCE 2025

The BEYA STEM Community, nearly 16,000 strong, offers pre-college students, college students, corporate, government, military professionals, business, and industry employers with three (3) days of learning, networking, celebrating excellence, and showcasing STEM career opportunities. BEYA stands for Black Engineer of the Year. This year a group of students from Atlanta University Center Consortium’s Dual Degree Engineering Program(Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse College, & Spelman College) attended the event in Baltimore, Maryland in February.
Students connected with industry leaders, showcased their talents, and unlocked new career opportunities.  Senior Director of AUCC DDEP Dr. Christopher Ellis said, “This experience was more than just a conference—it was a launchpad for future engineers ready to make an impact.” He shared with students, “Your Merit, Excellence, and Innovation (M.E.I.) continue to set you apart. Regardless of today’s unfounded narrative, your achievements speak for themselves. Keep striving, keep excelling, and keep breaking barriers.”
For 38 years, the conference has been a leading event for professional development, networking, and providing a resource for empowering minorities.
Special thanks to Shelia Irby-Richburg and Career Communications Group, for their unwavering support in providing our students with valuable exposure to opportunities.
