The culmination of our students’ hard work comes to fruition this weekend, as our four member institutions hold Commencement exercises for the Class of 2025.
Each of our schools will hold reunion activities and more to celebrate each class’s distinction and honor. Find out more below about speakers, locations, and honorees for this year.
Here’s a rundown on the Commencement Exercises for 2025 at our member institutions: Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse College, Morehouse School of Medicine, and Spelman College.
Clark Atlanta University
The 36th Clark Atlanta University Commencement Convocation will be held on Sunday, May 18, 2025 at 10:00 AM at GSU Convocation Center, 455 Capitol Ave SE, Atlanta, GA 30312
The commencement speaker will be Dr. Dennis Kimbro, a distinguished educator and best-selling author who is recognized for his expertise in leadership, wealth, and success.
Honorary Degree Recipient: Alvin T. Trotter, Sr., M.D. c/63, Retired Trustee, Clark Atlanta University

Morehouse College
Morehouse College will celebrate the class of 2025 with its 141st commencement on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at 9:00 AM on Century Campus at Morehouse College.
The commencement speaker will be Dr. Cornel West, American philosopher, theologian, and activist
Honorary Degree Recipients:
- Ava Duvernay, award-winning filmmaker, director and storyteller.
- Dr. David A. Thomas, 12th President of Morehouse College

Morehouse School of Medicine
Morehouse School of Medicine’s 41st Commencement Exercises will be held in person with family, friends, alumni, and other MSM community members invited to join in the celebration in the newly renovated Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel at Morehouse College, Saturday, May 17th, 2025 at 9 a.m.
The commencement speaker will be Regina Benjamin, MD, MBA, 18th U.S. Surgeon General MD, MBA a Morehouse School of Medicine alumna who served as the 18th United States Surgeon General from 2009 to 2013, providing the public with the best scientific information to improve the health of the nation.

Spelman College
Spelman will honor the graduates from the Class of 2025 at their 138th commencement ceremony at 2:30 pm on Sunday, May 19, 2025 at the Georgia International Convention Center (GICC),2000 Convention Center Concourse

The Commencement Speaker will be Academy Award-nominated actress Taraji P. Henson also a producer, entrepreneur, and #1 New York Times bestselling author, whose impact extends far beyond the screen. She will also receive a Doctor of Fine Arts honorary degree.
