Atlanta – The magic of Disney touched down in the Atlanta University Center on Tuesday, August 27th. Disney on the Yard is The Walt Disney Company’s commitment to providing meaningful opportunities for HBCU students and building a community for HBCU alumni working across the enterprise. AUC students enjoyed lunch, music, giveaways, and a chance to learn more about Disney on the Yard! The highlight of the show was a special performance by Drum Major Mickey Mouse accompanied by his HBCU graduate drum majors. This was Disney on the Yard’s 2nd visit to the Atlanta University Center, partnering with the Atlanta University Center Consortium.
Disney on the Yard is an initiative launched by The Walt Disney Company to engage and support Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and their students. On Tuesday, August 27th, Atlanta University Center students interacted with recruiters from Disney brands such as Hulu, ESPN, Pixar and more. The event also featured celebrity deejay Traci Steele, who provided the perfect soundtrack for Mickey’s special performances and for students to have a dance break during the first full week of classes.
