The 2024–25 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form has some big changes for students and families. Under the FAFSA Simplification Act, a significant overhaul of the processes and systems used to award federal student aid start with the 2024–25 award year. There are seven critical ways the experience is changing including new terminology and the formula that determines the amount of aid students receive. The changes also include Federal Pell Grant eligibility expanding to more students.
