Darius Broughton

With nearly two decades of experience in transportation, Broughton is an industry expert in multimodal solutions, and plays a vital role in expanding the Atlanta office presence. As Vice President and Group Director at HNTB, he is responsible for overall service to key clients — from planning through delivery of projects — by leveraging HNTB’s resources and technical expertise.

Previously, Broughton served as director of program management for H.J. Russell and Company. He was responsible for the organization, implementation, and general management of capital improvement super-mega-programs. He also previously served the City of Atlanta as project controls manager for the city’s Department of Watershed Management’s Inaugural Project Management Office.

Broughton earned his Master of Business Administration at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Additionally, he holds a Bachelor of Science in Bio-Environmental Engineering, a Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics, and a certificate in waste management from Morehouse College/North Carolina A&T University. He also served as a Center of Excellence Certificate program mentor for the National Minority Supplier Development Council and an instructor at the Construction Business Management Institute. Additionally, Darius currently serves as both a recruitment and DEI ambassador for Georgia Tech’s Scheller College of Business. Darius also serves on the Regional Business Coalition of Metro-Atlanta Board (by way of The Atlanta Airport Chamber) and is a part of the Leadership Georgia 2024 cohort.
